Dear Lord Jesus,

May we know you more clearly,

Love you more dearly and follow you more nearly.

Harvest

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the Harvest Church Service. We welcomed Reverend April Gold, Diocesan Director of Education at Coventry Diocesan Board of Education to lead our first Harvest Festival Service since joining the Stour Federation Multi Academy Trust.  The children all did a wonderful job reading, reciting and even singing their own song written about Autumn!

" It was a joy and a privilege to celebrate harvest with the children and families of Wilmcote CofE Primary School in the beautiful and historic St Andrews Church. We enjoyed thinking about creation and giving thanks for those who grow and produce the food we eat. We also enjoyed singing the Harvest Samba! The children's generous gifts will go to Stratford Foodbank. Wilmcote CofE Primary School and St Andrews Church have worked in partnership since 1841 when they were built to serve the local community, making them the oldest school in the Diocese to still occupy its original site. Wilmcote entered into a new partnership in September by joining the Stour Federation enabling it to work more closely with other schools in the local area." said April.

Head Pupils Amelie and Agnes commented too. 'We appreciate that we have fresh food and water and all of God's creation.'

Remembrance

We marked Armistice Day with a minute’s silence kindly led by Reverend Fritha in our beautiful churchyard. Owl Class children read the names of the fallen men from World War 1 and World War 2 from our community. Isabelle in Hedgehog Class is a distant relative of one of the soldiers who gave his life in service during conflict. If you are interested to find out more about the men behind the names, Stan Lapidge has researched and forwarded fascinating details which can be found below. Thank you as always to Reverend Fritha for her service and time.
